Language quality assurance

Language quality assurance is also known as QA evaluation or QA review. All businesses that address their customers through writing need to give huge attention to the role of the used language for addressing whether this addressing is done through the website of the company, the presentation materials, advertising booklets, or even newsletters. For this reason, language quality assurance is considered highly important. Language quality assurance is applied upon the translated texts targeting the evaluation of the linguistic quality of these texts in accordance with the standard procedures that include providing an overall opinion, reporting the various types of errors, and also classifying these errors in accordance with the severity of the errors as well as their types. By applying this process to translation, it seems that there are 3 types of quality that are applicable to translation. The first type is the quality of the process. This is the main key that affects the translation vendor’s choice. Then comes the quality of the project and finally the quality of the product (Glazychev, 2015).

As for the steps for implementing the quality assurance process, it starts with analyzing requirements. The costs of fixing a bug detected while testing is more compared to preventing them during the requirements design’s stage. The second step is to plan the tests. This is done with the information gained during the first phase. The third step is to design the tests. The quality assurance during this stage should craft checklists and test cases for encompassing the requirements of the software. The fourth step is executing tests as well as reporting defects. The fifth step is running regression tests and re-tests. This is done once finding out the bugs, submitting and fixing them for ensuring safety and accuracy. The last step is running release tests (Bose, 2020).
